Urea prices rollback, because farmers will be hit hard. Why can't additional taxes/petrol prices/any increase in common folks' expenditure also be rolled back given the state of the economy? Why should say, to take a group of people, IT workers have to continue paying nearly 20-30% of their taxable income as income tax when the industry is so shaky? All these politicians who speak so much for the farmers should also do something for them. All they do is whip up passions when disputes arise on water sharing etc. Sanity goes out of the window.

Apparently a whole bunch of MPs want to go to South Africa if India reaches the finals to cheer the team. I really hope the government puts its foot down and rejects this request, even if the MPs want to pay their way to the World Cup. There is a session of Parliament on. The MPs are paid to attend Parliamentary proceedings and get a salary. So they bloody well do their job.

    Cricket

So it is an India-Kenya semi-final. I'd really love to see if there're any bookies who became millionaires after betting on Kenya reaching the semis (wagers at the start of the competition, not midway). India are the form team currently and we need to crush New Zealand. Don't bother about things like 'opening up old wounds' etc. This is not a revenge game. This is a new game, in the World Cup. If India beat New Zealand, New Zealand are kicked out of the tournament. That kind of wound really takes time to heal and to add insult to injury, Kenya is in while the Kiwis would be out.
